Has anyone tried stapling small paper sacks around developing apricots, apples or pears to protect them from squirrels? I tried plastic baggies last year with very limited effect. Most filled with water or blew off the fruit. Squirrels ate every apricot off one tree, often hopping onto it from another tree. I've read Chinese farmers put sacks around growing apples to protect them from air pollutants. If not sacks, what are other suggestions?
Paper sacks protect fruit on trees?
Wouldn't paper sacks get soggy and break apart in the rain?
