My brother rescued this plant from a bulldozer's path several years ago in western North Carolina. He planted it on his property in West Virginia where it remained dormant for 3 years - no sign of life at all. He assumed his efforts were fruitless. Three years ago it emerged with three flowers. Now look what he has to show for his efforts!
