I live in the NC piedmont region.
We have a number of naturalized dogwoods in the woods - I haven't seen any in bloom. Did I miss it? The redbuds have bloomed and already have their leaves.
Dogwods - what happened..did I blink?
We had similar with our bradford pear. No flowers this year. Just straight from bare to green.
Here in Granville County the dogwoods were great - following after the redbuds. Some years the dogwoods seem puny, but this year was great. Go figure!
Well Granville isn't that far ---we should be on the same 'schedule'
There are still a few (very few) flowers on the redbuds..maybe all is not lost for the dogwoods.
The native dogwoods here in Winston-Salem were lovely this year but they did seem to go from bloom to green pretty quickly. I think the early warm spells we're having are rushing everything along this year.
