I have a 2 foot tall stone and mortar wall about 20 feet long with full morning sun that needs something covering it. In front of the wall is a strip of grass about 5 feet deep and also 20 feet long. The wall encloses a raised bed I have planted with shrubs and perennials. My wife and I have been discussing the possibility of planting something in front of the wall that would cover it without being too invasive and hopefully flower. I am in zone 6/7 and would prefer something that doesn't need much water, though moderate water needs are okay. Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated.
Perennial flowering 3 foot stone wall vine... Help?
Clematis? There are shorter ones that would look nice covering some of the wall. Bijou and Filigree are both short - 2'.
Clematis would be perfect for the conditions you describe.
