Debbie from Silver Star Clematis Nursery made a Vancouver run for us “southerners” in Oregon. I got Asao, Ragoochi, Princess Diana and Betty Corning. I put the last three together around a tower I made of black link wire and doweling. This is an experiment. I have a small yard and must look upward for space. Anyway, I took 10 feet of black fencing wire and rolled it side to side to make a 10 foot high tower. Tied it together on every square with a plastic zip tie. (I used black so you can’t see them). I wove a 12 ft doweling through the squares and buried the end of the doweling 2 ft deep. I may add one or two more doweling for sturdiness. It doesn't look like much but I have high hopes. Here it is.
