My 2010container gardening starts !

Columbus, OH

Tomtom, you inspired me to do some lobelia pots and Silene Dwarf Pink Star. Does the Silene reseed for you at all?

I'm also doing some hostas and other perennials in pots to fill in spaces in the border that need a little oomph.

Phoenix, AZ

Nice colors and textures, sylguy!
Tomtom, your creations are just beautiful!

Fantastic container !!
Yes,that's it exactly.
I grow it for its variegated leaves rather flowers.
I often chage out the plants since I want to grow so many plants.

Celene
Silene pink star doesn't reseeds in my garden.
So I sow it every year.
I also put the container in the space of the border . #15 This pot of Dianthus is placed in the bed.

Aguane
thank you for your kind word.

The beginings of a new one, my shade one in an old birdbath. The lime is now trailing well as is the dichondra, but my fav is the weird fuzzy papyrus on the left.

Very clever TomTom.I need to fix a container where coleus didnt do as well as planned.

Coleus is too vigorous to manage in good shape in the container,I think.
It covers other plants rapidly, you know.

Good luck !!

There will definatly be a new plan for next year.
I have already been putting perennials in some of the containers that coleus just didnt do well in.
Like small hostas "Cheaten Heart" the sluggs just ate it to the ground last summer.
I also have a Small leafed Heuchera in another container.

Your perennial containers are getting gorgeous to me.
I love Hostas too.

I certainly am pleased that you think so. You are the container champ in my book.
I loved the Papercrete ones you posted last year. Are the same plants in them?
Do you empty them every year and make a new creation?
I was ready to sculpt some peprcrete's for myself until I realized cement comes in 80 pound bags and I dont have a good place to work on that scale here. I share a home with my 2nd daughter and her husband.

Tomtom what on earth do you feed with, live fish? Your plants are soooo robust!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Just lovely

Tomtom, what potting mixture do you use?

OSAKA, Japan(Zone 9b)

ge1836,

I didn't remake that small pots yet.
Because they are lookatable even now.

sylguy,angedawn47,

The soil that I usually use is not special one.
I often use used soil with leaf molt added.
If they look robust, they may be helped by the climate.
