I was playing with the background coloring in my photos while out on our upper deck yesterday. I liked the yellow leaves on this Persimmon tree next door. In late fall the leaves turn a beautiful red-perfect for more photos.

The green leaves of the Apple trees make good background colors for this Anna's hummer.

A slight turn toward the Persimmon tree and the background changes.

Dahlia, love your little bird habitat. And that big bow, will surely be a welcome home sign for your little hummers. Now you'll have to patient and thump feet and fingers like me in the meantime. lol That snow is hitting an area, about 60 km from us, hope it's the last we hear off it this season.

This young Anna's looked pretty with the red lava rocks in the background.

This poor water-soaked bird looked like it had been out in the rain too long. I'd have loved to catch it long enough to wipe it off, but before I could get out there, it was scared off by an Oriole.

LOL Duc, this background thing is amusing to me because I was considering buying some really pretty Forest or flower print material to hang behind the chickadee house instead of seeing my ratty old garage that needs painted.

Mrs Ed we could do a hummer duet ^_^ Duc/all do they groom the water off or fluff? I have never seen a wet hummer.

I've never seen one that wet here. The ones I have seen both fluff and groom.

Our hummers love it when my DH waters the lawn. They fly into the sprinkler water.

Here's a few older photos.

They fly right up to the hose nozzle.

Then they fly over to a Burning Bush and rub themselves in the leaves.

Duc, they are the sweetest images.

This male Anna's was guarding his feeder while trying to avoid the high winds.

This Rufous gave me the "look" as I watched him through the window.

A couple seconds later he totally ignored me and continued drinking.
