Looks like an I. japonica--strange that it is hardy where you live. guard it well.

I think it might be Dutch iris and for the live of me can not remember the name...

I thought it was a spuria or Dutch.

for some reason I think it is a dutch iris. but don't believe a thing that I say because I don't know.

Hola, I measured the tallest Iris, and from the ground to the top of the flower it is 3 feet.
