Coconut tree Trash or Treasure?

Hello ,
In about a week my neighbors are cutting 2 very tall coconut trees(new add construction to the house)of about 50+plus yrs old .I felt terrible ..I ask for them …maybe I can grow some coconuts.. but what can do with the trunks. Maybe grow some vines on it or maybe use it in my garden ..I don’t’ know all ideas are very welcome.
Many years of growing, many storms and hurricanes …is not easy to let them go!
