Just wondering if there are any knitters out there. i have become interested in knitting trauma teddies for red cross. Is this just an Aussie thing I wonder?

I'm not sure if this is unique to Australia, but they are so cute!
They are cute and really easy to make. I am teaching my friend to knit using this project; it only has garter stitch and only cast on and off.
i am thinking of starting it off at my high school too, since its a good beginners project.
