Uses for burlap coffee bean sacks?

Bremerton, WA

A friend gave me 5 of these sacks. If nothing else, I know they can be used as weed blockers but 4 of them are are too nice to cover with mulch. I've read of them being used as pillow or bulletin board covers, but how? (Meaning, can they be washed? How do you keep the material from unraveling? Some are more tightly woven then others.) I've wondered if I could grow potatoes in one (how, specifically) or use as a compost bin. Or is there something more decorative, inside or out, I could use them for? It would help if I had a creative bone in my body or weren't too shy to try. :) Your thoughts would be most appreciated.
