MB1 I have always loved these trees and that will be the first tree I plant when we get our house next year if all goes well. The color as well as the picture is bea-u-ti-ful.

I have a green colored weeping japanese maple, but it's not very big yet. If that one gets moving along here soon, that would most likely be my favorite weeping maple. I like the fine leaves and cool colors of the green one. The red is great, but it can be a little too much sometimes. The red one you see here isn't the weeping variety, but I have another one that is...and it's more of a dark red leaf.

Check your local garden stores...they usually mark down left-over trees. If you can find a store like Frank's, that only stocks up on plants for spring, summer and part of fall, then you can find really good deals. They don't want to keep them over winter and have no good place to store them, so you get them pretty cheap.
