Anyone know the difference

Plymouth, PA(Zone 5b)

What is the difference between:
Scientific Name:
Arundo donax 'Variegata'

Plant Common Name:
Variegated Giant Reed Grass

Family:
Poaceae (Gramineae)

and:

Scientific Name:
Miscanthus sinensis 'Variegatus'

Plant Common Name:
Variegated Maiden Grass

Family:
Poaceae (Gramineae)

Also which is less invasive?
thanks

Dear tamlamb - donax is very very tall - have seen it at 15 feet and really not too pretty. The miscanthus is a clumpy, fountain shapped plant. In my experience neither has been very invasive. Hope that helps!

Tamlamb, I also want to add that Arundo is not hardy, cooler than zone 7. I know it can make it through in six with mulch. On a personal note, I fell in love with a clump of the Arundo, by a pond at a retail center, until I noticed in it's present location, it comes up variegated and really stunning, but then turns completely green and looks somewhat like corn. LOL
