I need to have an apricot tree pruned (it grew really a lot last year and the pruning is beyond my ability) and also an overhanging oak tree branch up about 2 stories cut back. I see all the ads but don't know who to call. Any suggestions?

Ask local friends which one they use. It took a couple trys before someone came & it is an excellent firm.
Get a certified arborist. Just google it for your area of CT.
Memory, I use A-1 out of Harwinton...don't know if they'd come to Bridgeport, though.
I called Bartlett and the want $180 just to come out to the house. I'm going to take pictures and ask the fruit forum for help on pruning it myself.
