I loved seeing that thin red stem too that attaches to that great pad. I am always attracted to plants that have such great texture and color. Oh to have a pond filled with them! Mature ones are so full of texture and great form!

Thanks for the positive comments. I would love the pond, but only if I had the maintenance staff to take care of it. The Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco is a wonder place. Their sculpture of this water lily is just fabulous. You can walk under it.
