Minerva Amaryllis Beautiful Leaves No Flowers What To Do?

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

Newbie here. Bought an Amaryllis kit on clearance a few days after Christmas, potted it up the first week in January (had already sprouted in the box). The plant has grown five very long, beautiful green leaves, but never grew a flower stalk. Shouldn't there be blooms by now, or should I give it some more time? If I don't get blooms this year, should it flower next year instead? Bulb was very healthy when
planted.

If no flower this year keep it growing, place it in as sunny a spot as you can and fertilize regularly. Light and food are MOST important for any flowering/fruiting plant.

Shame you didn't get a flower stem this year. But 5 leaves should provide the bulb with enough food to make a flower for next year. As Tommy says, keep it growing and feed it well and you should get your reward in time :)

I bought some papilio bulbs and they produced a beautiful flush of healthy leaves. So at least I know the bulbs are being well fed, both by me and the leaves. The flowers will come later.
