Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

We came from here.

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1075001/

The other Thread was getting a bit long.

Man this has been one long cold snowy Winter!
We're finally seeing a bit of green.
Unfortunately it's the tops of the pine trees!

Hey, we had a nice big spot of grass showing above the septic tank. LOL Now, it's flippin' snowing again!! Lots of bright, blinding, snowing while the sun shines SNOW!

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

Snowing here again too. I hate the stuff. Winter can't last much longer....can it?

Columbus, OH

Cajun, it has to be over soon. Seriously. I'm planting tomatoes and peppers, so it simply MUST be spring. Ghost peppers, mmmmmm

Photo was taken a day or two ago... now the yard is all white again. Covered over completely in about an hour. Sigh

I just found out my BFF (best friend forever 32 yrs ) mom that has cancer , is stopping treatment. She is 70 and she just can't take it anymore. Emotionaly of physically. We are at a loss for words. I may be going to CA soon. This woman is my " Ma " but you have to say it like a person from Boston would.
we're just hoping that they got enough to slow it down. I m praying for her and my BFF.
sorry don't feel to chatty tonight.
kiss a loved one today , tomorrow changes everything

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

She and the family are in my prayers. None of us are promised tomorrow. Live everyday like it's your last. It might well be.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh Sue, I'm so sorry to hear that...I know from our talks that she has been suffering for a long time. I hope the end is easier for her.

Well, I got too close to the computer too. The bathroom and I are sick of each other at this point....I'm hoping today is better than yesterday cause I'm SORE!!

Oh Cookie yuck ! sorry to hear you sick too.
not much here today
still got 6 trays of seeds to do.
i am out of lights and i just don't have it in my budget to get more for the next shelf unit.
later

Dellroy, OH(Zone 6b)

Ric, loved that pocket shelf unit...that was really neat.

Chelle......hope you guys are feeling better...... Hope it passes out the door before passing on to the next in your crew.

Sue, Plant them anyways and rotate the trays under the lights......That's what I do when I run out of lights or space. lol

And as far as "Where's Spring!!!"............on vacation with Summer...........danged old weather caused a flight cancellation!

Bonnie? How are you doing?

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Has anyone else noticed an increase of gardening-related unsolicited email since IB bought DG?

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Not here. Just the usual Viagra and other weird stuff, lol.

Seymour, IN(Zone 5b)

I have suddenly been receiving 7-8 a day and didn't make the connect. Duh!I wondered where the origin was for them all at one time. I hate them and "junk" them when they come. Lou

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Nope. I hardly get any gardening related spam. Mine invite me to meet Russian women. LOL

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

I get very little. My internet provider has a terrific program to sort them out. I get an e-mail from them telling me there are some & I can go look at them if I want. I just delete their e-mail & then once a week or so I dump all the trash. Don't clog up my screen!

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

I wish I had a dollar for every one I've rec'd about viagra over the years, LOL.

My email program (it's not from my ISP) has a good filter but I usually look in the spam folder before I empty it... and lately find mis-directed emails that really aren't spam. Fortunately I can mark those addresses "not spam".

If indeed our addresses are being sold, I'll be up in arms... even if they are not "sold", but only being used by other IB-owned companies. Grrrr.

Has it stopped snowing in Ohio/KY yet? We actually didn't get much, and I haven't checked the forecast to see if there's more on the way. Sometimes I just don't want to know.

However, I decided to sacrifice my remaining firewood (saved in case of a power outage) and build a fire. My sister keeps the thermostat so low it was 61º in my library while I was watching TV last evening. Too cold for these old bones when just sitting. (She doesn't set it quite that low, our heat is unevenly distributed in spite of all new ducts and new heat pump after I moved here in 2006.)

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

Snowed a little here off and on today.

Thanks jar!

Zoomtown has a killer Spam filter.
I might see two a week.

Bonnie's missing from Parking Lot too!

Columbus, OH

I'm planting extra tomatoes and peppers, too...

Day 2 (of 4) of Continuing Education convention.

Caneyville, KY(Zone 6b)

Goodmorning! How's everyone doing? Woke up to sunshine this morning, so hopefully that'll help my disposition.

Still no word from Bonnie?

Darius, our place is the same way with the heat distribution. Sorry to hear you have to hit the wood reserve.

I just heard from Cece.
Bonnie has been in the hospital since yesterday afternoon.
On IV's probably won't be out before Monday.
Dehydration was a factor.... and an infection.
I'll let her tell you what's up when she returns and
I'll update you as I hear more.

Ric

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh no! I knew something was wrong when she had not posted for a few days. She always lets us know when she'll be away. If you hear anything else, please post or email or call!

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Thanks, Ric. Glad someone checked on her... and I hope she improves rapidly.

Bonnie was the one (I think) who sent out the troops when I disappeared abruptly into a Tennessee hospital about 3 years back. I was always glad someone noticed I was missing, and tried to find out why and where I was.

My paid membership in DG expires this fall; guess I need to see what forums are viewable to non-paying folks. With all the legal flap going on with IB over on the Writer's Admin Forum I don't have a very favorable impression right now. By the same token, I don't much like re-inventing of the wheel over on a new site either.

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

Will do Chele!

Yes there's certainly some turmoil brewing Darius.
It appears to be slowing but very slowly.

Oh, poor Bonnie! I hope she recovers soon.

Reading over notes for CE, Day 3: More dog and cat behavior :)

that snowman is hysterical !!! ROFLMAO
hope Bonnie is doing better . T&P for her.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Liz, thanks for the picture! LOL I missed it yesterday.

I had two kids home sick again yesterday. By about 4:00, it hit Craig and me too. Kristenne laid down for a little bit after dinner and came out to let us know it had just hit her. For whatever reason, the kids just had upchuck, Nolan only has it coming out the other end and Craig and I got both. Yay! I sure hope it's done because we've all had enough. Suffice it to say I was not near a computer once it hit...

I hope the rest of you steer clear of whatever virus it is!

Bonnie, let us know you are alright when you can.

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Hoping you all get over that fast, Michele!
And hoping Bonnie will be feeling better fast too!

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

Love the snowman. We are of a like mind. This weather is depressing. I haven't noticed any particular emails but I always get a lot I just wipe out in one fell swoop. Hope Bonnie is feeling better and home soon. My subscription is up the end of next month and i won't be resubscribing. I am slowly learning the new site. It's good to see so many familiar "faces" there. I am planting lots of maters too. But I always do. LOL

Chelle sending healthy wishes for you guys. Sorry to hear you are all sick. not fun.
I m not looking forward to checking on the chickens . ITs reallly cold out !

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Hey... y'all quit being sick! You've passed it along via the 'Net to my cat... who has been throwing up in the bathtub today. Don't even ask why there... probably because she has been living in that tub for about a week; she changes favorite spots almost weekly.

Seriously, a bug that's 'schlepping around' is no fun; do try to stay hydrated... even if you can't keep it down for long.

Waddy, KY

Ugh! First cold of the season. I could have done without. I'll try not to cough on the screen.

Hope Bonnie is doing well. And Chele, hope you're doing better. I think I'll keep my cold if I can NOT get what you all have.

Pretty much stayed inside today and cleaned house. I think it would take a couple weeks to whip it into shape. Unfortunately a wood burning stove seems to keep things dirty faster than you can clean.

That snowman pretty much summed it up.

Janet
