Native Trees/Shrubs in Yorkshire

Fond Du Lac, WI(Zone 4a)

Anybody know what trees and shrubs are native to west Yorkshire, near Holmfirth (sp?) and Huddersfield? I've got it in my head to paint a landscape since seeing a recent episode of Last of the Summer Wine. Not that I'm talented enough to paint teeny, recognizable trees or shrubs--I'm not, believe me. I just like authenticity, I guess. As long as I'm asking: what agricultural crops to farmers grow in Yorkshire?

Northumberland, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

Native, common:
[European] Ash
Goat Willow (small tree/large shrub)
Bay Willow (shrub)
Silver Birch
Downy Birch
[Common] Alder
Sessile Oak
Hawthorn (small tree/large shrub)
Rowan (small tree/large shrub)
Blackthorn (small tree/large shrub)
Wild Cherry
Bird Cherry (small tree/large shrub)

Native, rarer:
[Eurasian] Aspen
Wych Elm (close to extinct due to elm disease)
Pedunculate Oak
[European] Holly

Not native, but very commonly planted, often naturalised:
Scots Pine
European Larch
Norway Spruce
[European] Beech
Sycamore Maple (probably the commonest tree in the area)
Horse-chestnut
Swedish Whitebeam
Common Lime

Agriculture: mostly sheep grazing in that area; some cattle too. Also grass grown for silage or (more in the past) hay, and a little bit of wheat and oilseed rape on the flatter, lower altitude fields.

Good high resolution imagery of the area on google earth, head to 53° 34' N 1° 47' W, or click here: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?&q=Holmfirth
Also lots of photos of the area on Panoramio (linked from google earth, tick 'panoramio' under Geographic Web in the Layers, here's a few to start with:

Resin, you're a marvelous source of information on a region I've come to love. Now that we're retired, I see a visit in our future. Again, thank you so much!
