I've got some tubers of Apios americana. Has anyone grown these? If you have, what conditions did they seem to like?
Groundnuts
I have a few small ones and have also seen them in the wild. Our climate is very different from yours, but here they seem to enjoy a moist to wet, clay, circumneutral soil and part to full sun, as well as something to climb on.
They grow wild here in NW Florida, right on the beach. I would surmise they like humidity, salt water spray, sand, heat and wind. I have some growing in a 30-gallon pot, in full sun, and they do very well - reseed like crazy.
Well, I might try them in a large pot like that. We have alkaline soil and it gets hot here. I'm going to give a few to my friend who has a different soil than I do. Shouldn't I separate the ones that are connected to each other? What about the little bitty ones that are connected? Never had anything like this before!
