My asparagus beds are getting too acid and Dolomite seems to take forever to work its' way down (especially in a drought!!!)...does anyone have any way to get the soil alkaline more quickly? Our base soil is on the acid side, and I did dig in Dolomite when I planted them, but have been fertilizing with highish N which seems to acidify the soil. Any help MOST appreciated!!!!!

How to get my soil alkaline FAST
Wood ash would raise your pH rapidly, I think. I'm not sure what nasty salts you'd end up with, though.
Good Idea...thanks
If you decide to use a little bit of ash, be sure it's actual wood ash. Ashes from plastics, charcoal briquettes, and those chemical-impregnated fireplace logs are horrible for your soil.

AlohaHoya, I think the best solution is for us to trade. My soil is way too alkaline. I will come see you and just bring soil---no clothes, and you can do the same. LOL
