There is an interesting thread on the Gardentalk forum. Its apicture essay about a path on the owners property.
I thought some of you hikers would share your photos.
This album was shot in the small gully in our neighborhood.
I took them as subjects for paintings.

Take a hike
This is a protected area I have been going to for many years. Developers have come as close as they dared as its a part of a land trust green area.
The years havnt been kind due to the neighbors,a nsmall lake on the property has filled in with reeds so the migrating ducks and geese dont come anymore.
Its called Thousand Acre Swamp its in Penfield NY.

My other fave place is Linwood Gardens.
Its where the Gratwick strain of TreePeonies was developed.
The property is open for 3 weekends in mid May when the peonies are in full bloom.
Artists can go there to take workshops and pay a fee at other times to spend a day doing whet ever they do,paint, sketch, photograph.

Very nice JoAnn. We have conservation land in back of my house. Eighty acres of woods and bogs and small ponds. They used to dig peat out of there long ago. I can't go back there now but there are paths all through it. That is also where all the critters that visit my garden live.
As you may have noticed I dont walk where there is rough footing.I love the wood deck trail there.
Cool.
My dog Sarah and I love hiking in the woods. We went to the park today before it gets really cold again.
The only web album I have is of Garden in the Woods in Framingham, MA. http://dailypics.ning.com/photo/albums/650124:Album:32459 You can click on any pic for details or see the slide show. This was my first outing with a new camera.

Thats gorgeous,what a calming spot.
yesterday when i was out jogging i notice a guy around the block (big blocks here, probably a mile or two away) had shoveled or snow blown a path into the woods - had to check out where it went, thought there might be a pond back there for skating - turned out to be only a few hundred yards for the dog to answer natures call.
lol... hope you didn't step in any "nature"
no, cats do not use the path i guess:)
