Mounting Troplical Foliage as Wall Art - Need Advice

New Port Richey, FL

I fell in love with a picture in the recent "Coastal Living" magazine. Someone had mounted large tropical foliage - palm, elephant ear, etc. individually in frames under glass and hung them as art work. I have a huge space over the fireplace that has had me stumped for decoration, and this would be perfect, but after searching the Web for hours last night, I didn't find anything definitive about handling tropical foliage, as opposed to dried, pressed flowers and autumn leaves. Has anyone tried to mount large foliage pieces, or have a good how-to book or Web site to point me to? I've never done anything like this before, so I'm starting from complete ignorance. Thanks for any help.
