Updating Browser/Help Needed

I'm trying to update my browser (internet explorer), they keep sending me to a New Zealand site to update,I don't want to update from there-I have never been to New Zealand much less live there, I know "very" little about computers but I know something must be wrong. Is this something I can fix myself?
