What a beautiful photo for Bloom of the Day, really gorgeous!

I have the Hoya pubicalyx RHP also. My plant bloomed for the first time last summer, but the flowers were nowhere near as nice as PanamonCreel's. I'm hoping the next blooms on my plant will be prettier.

shelly61: Your Hoya may very well be the Royal Hawaiian Purple, although there are many hoya's that look very similar. Here in Plant Files you can see photo's of both foliage and blooms for comparison to your plant. If you click on the photo's they will enlarge for a better view: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/57671/
Another one that looks similar is H. pubicalyx Pink Silver: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/57670/

Beautiful! I haven't grown hoya's in many years, but a member of my family sent me some cuttings in the mail and they have taken off. Or, at least as fast as a hoya can grow... This photo has me really looking forward to seeing what I've got! I have always thought hoya flowers looked like they would make great cake decorations. I wonder if they would be safe for such a use.
