Question on Win 7 install

I have an HP laptop dv6433d at 32 bit with vista. I purchased an upgrade to win7. When I try to install it wouldn't let me, message I need sp1. I downloaded sp1 and installed. I get the message I don't have part of the program on my computer. Any suggestions....
