I gotta take a pix of this creeping veronica that's in full bloom right now...it's gore-G-us

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Well, hurry back, im taking out the garbage. Be about the only think I can do in the GPS today. Make a wee bit of room for whenit warms up more.

Been thinking on uncovering the roses.

Ashdown, AR(Zone 8a)

I went to take that picture but they weren't open. Shooting for picture taking today...giant crocus have been open and there's a cute little hoop skirt jonquil/daffodil on the verge of opening. All the Tete'Tetes and Jetfire are open.

Gotta clean my new iris bed and plant some pansies or violas at their feet...mow...rake...weed...play in the dirt before that rain moves in. Doesn't look like rain this am...sky clear, stars twinkling but we have that "wait a minute" weather so it could change at any time now.....hope it misses us though.

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Awwww man, no bulbs open here.

I found my hand claw to clean off the strawberries, but now I need my hand shovel..

I have one iris in a pot, need to kick it out to the patio.

Need to sow the pansys

do chicken poo

im dodging raindrips...its hazy, warm and dripping. Sun is trying to poke through tho.

Have you done any verbena borenensis this year? If you got some I would be intersted

Ashdown, AR(Zone 8a)

finally got a picture of the creeping veronica but picture does not show the true BRILLIANT blue the blooms are. I just planted it last year from a deep 4" perennial pot and it has grown to apx. 12"x18-24" and just smothered in blooms.

I generally like to take pictures on cloudy days so I don't get glare off the lighter colors and colors are richer but the veronica doesn't open on cloudy days.

Flora, IN(Zone 5a)

Hi , again
I have been lurking
Just wanted you to know I really like the GPS
IT helps me to know when to plant things when I see someone in the same zone doing the garden thing.^_^
This has inspired me to do a garden journal (of sorts)
called Life in the garden.
Just wanted you to know YOU are the source of inspiration.
Thanks
Cinda

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Hi Gus, sorry I have not been updating it regular...been having some health issues so I have been doing what I can. Things just have not been back to normal yet. Course at our house nothing is normal. You would think I would be used to that! LOL!

Anyway, glad to hear from you!

I am happy to hear that it makes a difference in someone life!

Now mind you, I dont make rocket science out of gardening. That takes all the fun out of it, but we do have fun. I fopr one am happy when someone can hone in though and say hey looky here, heres an idea.. give it a go!

That thatr is an awesome butterfly pic my dear!

Keep us posted on what your up to here too!

Flora, IN(Zone 5a)

I still have Dave's as my home page and hang out in the herbs and cottage garden forums ...but who has time in the spring to do much else. This extra hot April has me running around trying to catch up everything is on fast forward. We look to be 2 weeks earl here.
I for one am glad it cooled down...don't like frost but cooler days are easier to work in.

The picture is my son's creation , it is my avatar on the other site.

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Well, that is waaay coool! Good job.

Catchup.. that seems to be the story of the days of our lives....

My loofa germed today! YEAH!

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Well, did some coleus, impatien, hypoestes, spirea cuttings. Cleaned out the baby sunroses to the porch.

Put the spider plants back on the front porch...gonna try that again.. hoping it does not get so cold like before.

Updated a few of my lists.

Watered indoors, rained about an inch outdoors.

Need to plant a few more veggies.

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Sowed some zukinees!

Flora, IN(Zone 5a)

Are you ready for a frost?

Predictions for tonight and tomorrow night.
Lucky I have a ton of extra large black pots and most things are still small.
I put remay over my peonys they are showing color already .

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Awwww crap! (Can I say that on the air???!)

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Gus, we got the frost...it looked wide spread.. hows bayou?

Flora, IN(Zone 5a)

Yep lots of white here , won't know if there is damage till it burns off.

Had bad dreams about mushy plants last night ( I am weird that way)

Flora, IN(Zone 5a)

Just in from looking ...looks bad...lilies were up too high to cover and now they are drooping.
Some iris were blooming already and others were showing ..can't tell how they will do??

Flora, IN(Zone 5a)

Went out to hose things off ...hose froze...not good

Thumbnail by gardengus
Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

When it frosts, the best time to hose is before sun up....hate to tell you that my friend, but I learned that the hard way too.

About all I am worried on is my taters.. what is is...will know later.

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Well, I broke down and got some pepper plants, tomaotes and some cucumber starters from Leo....I have seed starting, but the germ looked poor, then I lost my hothouse climber maters seed to the mice. UGH!

Ashdown, AR(Zone 8a)

Popping in to say "Hi" before I'm off to farmers market.

Here's some color for those of you not yet getting full effects of spring.
