Question about Plastic Canvas

I am about to make a zippered laptop bag

And the pattern calls for plastic canvas. To stiffen up the sides of the bag



All I can find on Plastic canvas is the stuff that is full of holes, (this stuff)

or similar to this stuff.

I don't think that's what i'm suppose to be using on this.

I have some plastic template that I use for bottoms of purses/bags and such, but it's not large enough to cut enough for this laptop bag.

Any ideas on what I could use?

The bag i'm making is the bottom right one, the green one. in the photo
