i've just fired my first glaze firing in my electric kiln, and having some issues with the sitter.
i put an 04 cone in the sitter, and it bends and shuts the kiln off, but the witness cones only indicate an 06 melt.
i dont have a pyrometer, and am wondering if the sitter needs calibrated, is it really firing at cone 04, or is it all different temps inside.
all the pieces glazed very well, which i am really excited about, but i need help figuring this out for future firings.
