Growing Bamboo for Fiber for Yarn

Spiro, OK(Zone 7a)

I've been scouring the internet for instructions on how to grow bamboo and extrude the fiber for making yarn. I'm really interested in bamboo since it's a humane alternative to animal fiber (though I love me some wool and alpaca!) and since it's ridiculously renewable, I think it's a very green route to go. Anyway, I can't find squat! Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm thinking I'd like to do it manually (rather than chemically) and then hand dye it for personal use and perhaps some etsy.com sales. Any input will be greatly appreciated!
