Anyone use Embird?

I got an early Christmas present and hope there are some users that can help me figure out a couple of things. I successfully added text and edited a design yesterday, so I was proud of myself. My first question is how to set Sulky as my thread choice, so that when I edit a design, it will assign the correct color to it based on the color of the design. I assume it will do that. I found where I can assign the color, but would like the program to do it if possible. Most of the designs I use are set up for Madeira colors and I use Sulky, so converting all the colors manually is kind of a hassle. Also, does anyone know of a good manual?
