Another Bluebird thread

Well THERE's a beautiful holiday image!

All beautiful shots Dave but that last one is drop dead gorgeous! As you know the female Blue is my most favorite and that shot sure shows her beauty. Most Excellent!!

Well, the snow is here and conditions are terrible for taking pictures. Even when you pull out all the stops, the camera just won't hold focus. The bluebirds caame around as usual but I couldn't get the storm door open because of the snow. They left and I haven't seen them since. I went out through the garage and shoveled my way around to the back and cleared a path to the back door but already you can't tell that I did anything. We got more than a foot overnight and are supposed to get at least that much more before it quits Sunday morning.

This female tried to land on the snow on top of the feeder and skidded over the top.

Waiting for Dave

I put food out but the snow is coming down and blowing so hard it is covered in 10 minutes. I figure they will be back. There is precious little they can find to eat in these conditions. I hope they find a nice thick evergreen to hunker down in for a while.

Aww poor Bluebirds. Love the "Waiting for Dave" shot.

One disadvantage of shooting with the big lenses: you often are so close you can't get more than one bird in the picture. In this case I did -- barely.

Bird has not folded up the wheels as yet.

Here are a few from today. The first several were taken at different times and of several different birds but I will try to arrange them as if it were one bird taking off.

Well, I do have some pictures but for some reason it is "one and done" with me and this server. I tried for three hours last night to load a second image and this morning It let me upload one and now if there is an image attached, no deal. I'll try again later.

Pity, They are such beautiful shots. (as always!)
