I saw the mother in bloom a few months ago at this nursery, not for sale. I believe it was pink and stripey but my memory is bad and I could be making it up. Yesterday I found a baby of it. I'm sure it's a species with the distinctive red line on the underside of the leaf. For $8 I bought it on the spot. Label said "miniature amaryllis."
Anyone have this?
I have one that has a red stripe down the leaf but I cannot remeber what side of the leaf the stripe is on. I think it may be the underside.
Nice find.
Thanks Sunshine. I'm good at spotting the odd ones.
San Antonio Rose
Thanks, Maria!
You're most welcome! Now SAR so far is the only variety that I know of that has this red midrib on it's leaf back. There could be some that I don't know of specially species or possibly new crosses. We'll never really be 100% sure until it blooms. It is definitely a good purchase for $8.
I sure hope it gets big enough to bloom for me. Love that! Guess I was wrong on the color!
