I should be digging up & dividing the gingers and canna by now but they have yet to be hit by a frost much less a freeze! I'm getting way behind schedule here and the Bengal Tiger canna is STILL BLOOMING along with my roses.
Anyone keep any records of last year as to when our first hard freeze was (not counting the really weird one in October of 08) down here in the low country?

I don't recall, but it does seem that up until the last 2 years, we normally didn't get a freeze at all til around Thanksgiving.
I actually did dig some butterfly gingers yesterday. They had to move and I was tired of waiting. :)
My neighbor's Cannas are blooming away, too.
