A few years ago I had one of these and guess I didn't think it was that uncommon. I kept it a few years and lost it over a winter. I have since tried to locate another with no success. I've found the purple and the 'yellowish' green but not this rich green color.
Was wondering if I root sweet potatoes is this possibly a plant that will sprout?
Meet Ipomoea batatas ~ ornamental sweet potato ~ Lady Fingers...
Loved and lost this vine and was wondering?
Thanks for your response Bubba1. This is the PlantFiles link for this pretty plant. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/53075/
I am actually one of those three on the "have or want" list and all three of us are on the "want" side of it. I will keep searching in hopes of finding another plant.
Appreciate you... pod
O.k. I googled. Try this website. You have to keep scrolling down past the impatients to the ipomea, then there are several varieties before you get to lady fingers. They seem to have it for $4.00.

I tried to copy and paste the web address, but as usual it didn't work for me. Let me know if you find what I found!

It's http://www.rareplants.com. At the top of the page click on online catalogue, then scroll down to where it lists the plants in groupings. Click on the Ilex, Impatiens, Ipomea etc. group. Then scroll down past the impatiens to the ipomea. Let me know if you find it!
Hey ~ thanks! I found it and was able to navigate the glasshouseworks link. That is not a bad price... I need to contact them tho as the info they have posted states
stock is plentiful for '08.
Certainly is different, at first I though you had the name wrong as it didn't look like Ipomoea batatas to me. Lady fingers is much different.....
You'll probably have a lot better luck finding it in the spring if no one has it here.
And I didn't know it had blooms. Mine never did but that link says it blooms. I remember having the ornamental sweet potato blooming so I guess this one should.
Thanks to both of you!
