Smelly cutting board

Annapolis, MD

I just bought a beautiful cutting board (used) that is 3" thick and is 18"X18". It weighs about 20+ lbs. Only problem with it is that it stinks. Not of food smells but a strong mildew/musty smell. I scrubbed it with soap, baking soda, rubbed with lemons..nothing is helping. It also has an oily feel to it, even after I washed it. Makes my hands stink when I pick it up and they feel oily. I have had to put it outside..the smell is a bit nauseating. Can anyone think of anything else I can do? Will sanding the board help? I hate to get rid of it, it is visually a beautiful cutting board done like parquet flooring.
Thanks for anyone's help.
