You know how there's always that one thing your SO says
"Why in the world are you keeping that?"
Well that's the shower doors.
We found one pair when we cleaned out the garage after moving in.
(The old owner was a pack rat....)
Then when my Parents remodeled I scored another pair.
We've had them around now for about 10 years....
Almost used them twice but I found better alternatives for those projects.
Problem is cutting tempered glass is about impossible for the amateur so 'they is what they is'...lol!
Last year we scored a great deal on a Hot Tub.
Refurbished and bought from our neighbor,
it also included all the wood he had used to build the room enclosing it and the patio stones from the entryway.
(The projects those generated will be in another post)
It fit perfectly into an enclosure we had built for our old one.
BUT for the winter we ended up covering the entrance w/ a drop down tarp,
efficient but really ugly.
The year went on and we totally redesigned the hard scape.
Wood everywhere and sleek, the tarp just wasn't going to cut it.
So we dug out the shower doors and started designing, measuring, arguing (lol! it's part of our design process) and finally arrived at a final look.
I spent a day working out the details and two days building and installing.
The upper track we had from a previous project.
Grand total for the new look.
$15.00 for three 8' pressure treated 2 x 4's and one 2 x 6.
The stairs, bottom runners and other wood needed we pulled from our scrap pile.
