I have never grown Dahlias, but would like to start. I really like white flowers and pictures of the white ones I've seen are lovely. Does anyone have a favorite white? Size isn't important.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Favorite Whites?
Semi-cactus My Love is wonderful. Blooms early and a lot, good keeper both in the vase and overwinters well. It's NOT 8-10", 4-6" is reality, I'd say 5-6" consistently here and I will send that error report to DG dahlia Plantfiles' Joan. Can't believe I haven't put an A++ comment in for My Love, it's a favorite!

I like Karras 150 equally well. Maybe fewer flowers, but not by much. Again, blooms here are 4-6" wide.

Spike was awesome as a large white. Too darn bad I killed all the tubers last winter :( I'd rebuy this in a minute and likely will for next year.

A frilly large white is Tsuki Yori No Shisha but the the thick, hollow stems do not make for a great cutflower. Exceptionally pretty on the plant though.
Brookside Snowball- another wonderful bloomer- 4" ball on a robust plant. Great form, excellent for cutting and usually a good keeper unless I have it- then it perishes :( Will reorder again for next year. It's a beauty!

For a petite round bloom I've liked White Nettie.

Gitts Attention was a nice white bloomer with just enough frill on the tips of 5-6" blooms to make it interesting.

Big white "dinner plate" White Perfection is impressive. Fair number of blooms for a very large dahlia.

If you can tolerate lavender tinged tips I highly recommend Magic Moments, 6-8" and an excellent dahlia in my book.

Ditto for Unforgettable. I have grown several of these plants annually as it blooms non-stop with consistently good blooms for cutting. If it's not in Plantfiles, it should be with my highest accolades. It is.

And ditto for my all time favorite dahlia EVER: Painted Lady. There is nothing bad about it, ever. Except it has lavender edges. Otherwise a finely formed great bloomer and keeper. If I could grow only one dahlia this would be it, I think.

Tiny Treasure was fun and a great bloomer on a tall plant for a pompon. Petite white blooms of 1-2" with rare red streaks late in the season.

Another white that I liked was Yuukyu. Good number of full, fluffy blooms in the 6-8" range, as I recall.

If I think of any more, I'll post here.
Welcome to the Dahlia Forum dathen ^_^ Old reliable, no fail AA is 'White Perfection'. A good idea is to check back on the members threads and you will find many outstanding whites. Or just wait cuz the dahliaholics will pop in to your thread. Warning dahlias are addictive! (Dahliaholics Anonymous rules state that we have to give that warning) but now that that's over let the fun begin ^_^
See? Cross posted and I rest my case ^_^
Hee hee! True enough Dahlia nut. White Perfection is equally awesome and huge.
Here's Tsuki Yori No Shisha, mislabelled Suki Yori by moi`.

Poochella and Dahlianut - Thank you both so very much!! This is much more than I expected - I really appreciate the time you've spent. I've been having computer problems and haven't had a chance to check all these out, but definately will tonight. Again, thank you....and I will start going back over the forum and checking out the dahlias.
