I got this in a mixed box trade about 2 months ago. I have noticed that the edge color increases when the weather gets colder.

Sorry I can't help with the id, but that is one really pretty coleus. Love that rim of maroon.

It kind of reminds me of Henna, except that Henna's edges are more frilly.

It's really pretty Daniel and I hope you get an ID on it soon.

Ohio ought to be pretty cold by now, at least in my mind.

Do you have a greenhouse for your cuttings?

I use a glassed-in Porch. It warms up before the last frost and stays warmer longer after the first frost. This Summer, I filled it to the brim with all sorts of plants.

Its hard to ID coleus when they have their winter colors.
I would only guess at Watermelon unless your positive you never had that variety.
This is one of mine in the kitchen
The one in the livingroom is much different.Sorry the colors are a tadd lime.

Thank you ge1896! How did you put the two pix together?

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I copied yours and added mine in Picasa a free photoediting program from Google

I will look at that!

Ok...

That Coleus went through uncountable changes since my last post. It is now in a big pot with mixed impatiens. The main stem's top leaves turned white, black, yellow, brown, the whole coleus rainbow. Then two sports appeared near the base. They were TOTALLY black. Now they are developing lots of colors. I need to get more pix of it.
Maybe Roaring Fire?

This a pic from ~3 months ago. I need to get a more recent one, lol.

that certianly does look like roaring fire. it can be a chameleon in different light situations. like chuluota, it can get reddish when there's not much watering...

That's right... I did forget to water it for a time... Now that the wet season is upon my garden, it's changing again!! Will it ever settle down??
Thanks eskinola for the answer!!!

Happy Coleus Summer (today is the first day in Cinci! Ron Wilson said so!!)
