Looking forward to spring

Saint Louis, MO(Zone 6a)

My jonquils are already pushing up!
They seem a little impatient - the last time I checked, it's still October!

That's weird. I have irises pushing up.

I have daffodils pushing up about an inch so far.

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

Found lots of Daffs above ground when I cut some of the Mums back yesterday.

Saint Louis, MO(Zone 6a)

Is it normal for them to be showing already? I guess I just never noticed.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

They've done it many times here and no harm has come from it. If we were to get a spell of very warm weather for a few weeks (highly unlikely) there could be damage but the bud for the flower is well protected at this point.

Ashdown, AR(Zone 8a)

mine will do that too, most specialy Erlicheer..doesn't seem to hurt them.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

nuttin happinin here

Even a few warm days in winter can get their leaves popping up to give us hope.

(Sheryl) Gainesboro, TN(Zone 6b)

I have a sprinkling of blooms on my apple tree.

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

Sheryl, I had that on my apple tree last fall.

GE, Is that "Red Dragon"? Did it keep it's purple color throught out the hot part of the summer? Mine seemed to turn pretty green.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I'll try to find a earlier pic. Mine did get lighter but not completely green
oops not the one I wanted

Thanks, GE. That's still more color than mine held. Mine only has purple in the leaf centers now. Maybe yours is getting more sun than mine.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

That might be it. Mine are in part shade.

GE, your Trycirtis foliage still looks good too. Mine was actually crispy and wilting before the blooms started. Your cooler weather must help it stay green longer.

There are 2 plants there actually. I ordered a Blue toadlily from Bluestone and id did very well and bloomed but the color was hardly blue ,more lavander.
I had to move it to next to he one I photoed. I think it isnt doing very well, can hardly see it next to the gift plant from a neighbor.
I'll check it when it gets light to see how many leaves are growing on it.
