Excel disappeared

Last week I typed up 4 diff pages on Excel. I saved and retreived them 2x. Now when I go to open any one of them there is an automatic installation attempt of Excel reading: if you installed Excel using a cd put the cd in. If not search for the source. I tried c; but nothing. All of Office was on this pc when I purchased it new. Help!
