Macho Fern Help

(Tracey) Mobile, AL(Zone 8b)

Hi I'm new to this forum.. I've been in some of the free forums but I just figured out I can subscribe and access all sorts of wonderful info and help.. Sure am glad to have found this one.....

back to my fern:

Its in the ground (Zone 8a). I just removed it from the pot and put it in the ground this spring. It has never wintered in the ground before. Do I cut it back or leave it and cut it back in the spring? I don't want to lose it.

Best to leave it, particularly if it is a species with fronds that stay green through the winter.

Thanks for your reply Resin

Do you mean to just leave it alone and not cut it back or do I leave it until spring? Sorry to be a bother, I'm just a bit confused.

Yes, to leave alone and not cut back. It doesn't happen in nature ;-)
