A friend of mine was given this by a guy who came from out West, I think he was from New Mexico. Any ways I think it's kind of cool looking, I'm starting a few but I have no idea what the name of this is. What looks like a trunk is really the "leaves" that seem to get crusted over by something. Its been outside for the last 6 years so it's cold hardy and seems to grow fairly fast.

That palmbob guy is everywhere in the plant files. If it grows in a warm cilmate he's taken a picture of it.
