Thanks everyone! I had a very interesting birthday. I was away at a rather posh retreat. Fortunately I had time and access to a TV to watch the Yanks too.

Good people, good conversation, good food & 2 big wins. What could be better? Today I came home to be spoiled by my family. Spaghetti with a seafood fra diavlo sauce. Took this coming week off and I have a garden project planned. Not a bad start to being 55.

started my problem area project today on a bank along my driveway.Pulled out what was there and planted 100 Quail dafs and 100 species tulips. Tomorrow I'll add Black eyed Susans.

Sounds lovely, David. I love those Quail daffs (in other people's pictures).

My neigbor grows ivy next to this area. I need something tough. I figure this will be a good use of BES whichI want to remove or reduce in my beds.

Thanks Louise. Its been great, although I am pretty sore from all the garden projects. Monday to today, I probably put in 30 hours. It's great to get stuff done.
