New sees need some help

North Fort Myers, FL

I received a load of seeds from Arejay(TY again:))I guess my question is what scientific name would apply to Moonflower bush and Double Purple Moonflower Bush. This would help me search for the info i need to get them started.I'm so excited LOL

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

I'm thinking you might have Datura stramonium .. Moonflowers are usually Ipomoea - a type of morning glory .. how big are the seeds and what color are they? Can you take a picture?

The Latin name Ipomoea is reference to the Moonflower vine, not the bush. The bush is Datura inoxia, if white. The double purple may be Datura metel 'Purple Ballerina' (name from Parks Seeds) Some gardeners call these plant trumpet flowers.

There is also a yellow variety. See my plant of Datura inoxia x metel below.
