Just wanted to start a post of mum photo's this morning and was very surprised at the Rose Of Sharon flower that bloomed. I've never seen a ROS bloom in Oct. Is that normal? A friend gave me a piece of it over the summer and it only had 4 leaves on it and I didnt think it was going to grow. Show off your mums :>)

No it is not normal to be so green this time of the year. And yes, the picture actually looks quite nice in the enlarged version so one can clearly see details. My ROS has started going dormant in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area; it no longer has flowers and most of the leaves are turning. Enjoy all the greenery on your shrub, Christine!

If it has seeds, I'll send you some. But they may not be true.
I can get cuttings, it hasn't frosted yet. I like them better, but they
do better in potting soil, I think.
