Thinking flycatcher but not sure
Thanks
Al
Need help again with id'g a bird
It may be a Least Flycatcher.
Tough call to judge the size - was it small, medium, large?
I'd say too long-winged to be Least Fly, though.
Resin
It looks like a Yellow-Bellied Flycatcher, but they are mostly in Canada. Maybe an Acadian Flycatcher?
How about Eastern Wood-Pewee?
when and where was the picture taken?
I was going by my field guide, which said the the Least has a white wash on the throat compared to a Yellow-bellied which has a yellow wash, guide says all Empidonax show yellow on belly. It looked like its throat had some white but so I guessed a Least, tough bird's to Id.
You may be right with the Least..... My guide says the Least is commonly seen in the East during migration.
Sorry for the delayed response
Jec6 it was taken in Maryland on Saturday.
Resin I really don't recall the size as it was a pretty good distant away. I had to crop this one about 60%
I have other pics. I will see if it provides a different view point and post.
Thanks
