What is this?????????

Sunshine Coast, Australia

My pitcher plant has developed this... what looks like flower spike... at the top of the plant.
Can anyone please explain?

Thanks...Marleneann.

Yes MArlene, that is the flower spike. My Nepenthes flowered last year, and they looked like tiny little orchids, mostly green

Hi Marlene, me again. I found an old pic of last years flower and they are burgundy, not green. See? I think mine was pendulous too, but I guess there are a few species of nepenthes. Does yours have large pitchers (over 10cms)?

Of Sue they are beautiful flowers. This one has pitchers of about 12cm and pale green. I will post a picture of it when the flowers are out. I think at this stage it will be an upright bloom.
The other one I have has much more colour in the pitcher but at this stage does not have a flower spike.
Thanks for posting the picture.

Now I'm not sure if mine was pendulous or not. Looking at the pic again, I'd say not? My pitchers are plain green too, but I have my eyes open on the look out for any others. i have seen quite large ones at the botanical gardens, so someone must have some?
I also collect the water ones too.
How is your pond? Did the lily survive?
