Gardens are going to sleep up north here.
Pumpkin crowds are hanging out at vedgtable stands along country roads.
How quaint - - -
in the real world, I have to keep the leaves off the driveway so they dont get tracked into the house.
Its the most annoying aspect about living here.
River Birch tree next to the garage. Sheds all year round.
October Chat
pretty container
It had the most orange I could find for the October thread
FANTASTIC
Is thet trailing Queen in front?
I would say yes it is... but the name was trailing strawberry when I bought it years ago... I don't see a difference between them
Lovely coleus, gals.
I have trailing queen and I think the leaves are bigger, thats the only difference I can see.
either way it's been good to me the last few years
and thank you and good morning MIss Pirl
Very lovely combo, Jo Ann!!!
And good morning to both Jo Ann and Miss Onewish. Did you ever tell us what your one wish was/is?
I love it an am trying to get as many cuttings as possible. The plant is still living out doors, maybe I'll snip a few for starter trays inside.
I have a parent growing but want more than it will produce this season.
Hey Pirl
The cuttings Dale sent in August are ready to take cuttings from already. Heaven help me.
Ive been cutting for a week.I cant imagine where I will put another seedstarter .I do have 1 assigned for coleus that didnt make it so that will be my TQ cuttings tray
If I'm not organized in this small space I loose.
Pirl I will never tell my wish
;)
my cuttings from Dale and Jada both could make new cuttings... can't wait for spring!!!
I know what you mean, Jo Ann.
OK, Allison - I just wish your one wish comes true.
sssssshhhhhhhh not supposed to tell... but thank you
:)
A coleus farm?
Unlimited space to garden?
Winning lottery number for $30,000,000.?
Every day a healthy one for you and those you love?
Never having a dental problem?
Camelot weather?
Those Coleus are beautiful. Everyone enjoy this beautiful day.
I'm off to lunch w/ friends.Wev are doing a plastic fusing project.
Its artsy Fartsy I'll post pix if I do anything worth looking at
I tried the coleus cuttings over the winter before, west facing window, I wasn't successful, maybe should try again.
I have a few mixed in my under-the-orange-tree pot area and now looking at this, I should have planted richer deeper reds for more contrast. My 2006 pictures of this spot were more exciting, will have to try and duplicate it next year.
Really nice Sue.
I found losses over winter with coleus ,was from too much watering.
How did I miss the move? Anyway, here I am.
Good to see you all.
Hap
welcome aboard
hello everyone! i'm new to coleus this year and think i'm addicted! love them all!
can anyone tell me when is the best time to take a cutting? i have a mariposa that is over 3 feet tall and i really want to grow it again next year, but don't want to bring it inside for the winter. i guess i will have to cut it before the frost.....will it grow ok as a houseplant all winter?
sorry, just thinking out loud.
thanks!
~chele
yes they grow fina as houseplants all winter I have over 300 cuttings in the house now, as long as they are not too far away from light they will be fine
thankfully I have enough windows that I don't need grow lights
Grow lights do a much better job than window lights. They're constant and never have a problem with overcast days.
true but these are sitting in 9 picture windows that measure 4 1/2' by 8 1/2'....besides I have 5 teenagers, they'd get broken and I would become very evil on their butts...LOL
5??????
Prayers coming your way.
thank you...can you say blended family...they are 12 girl, 13 boy (mine), 14 boy, 15 boy (we didn't know about until 4 yrs. ago), 19 boy (his ex's that she left 5 years ago)
