best place for zone 7 gardening in the northeast

Saint Simons Island, GA

i want to move from a zone 9 in coastal georgia to a zone 7 in the northeast. i have already done a tropical garden in florida and a series of southern woodland gardens here in georgia. i would love recommendations of where exactly in the northeast serious gardeners would suggest i choose to move and is the perfect climate to establish what i hope will be my last garden one that can include a active winter garden. thank you, dooley worth

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Virginia
You can ask about specific areas on the MidAtlantic forum.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Does VA count as the northeast?? LI is reliably 7 in many spots, but way too $$ to live. Southern Jersey is probably good.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I DO NOT recommend living in NJ.

South Hamilton, MA

Wow!!!

There must be micro climates in many places in zone 7. I can only watch from here--zone 6a.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

If money is no object, Colts Neck, NJ is superb.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Victor LI isn't expensive! ...Ok some people have helicopter pads & harbors for 120' yachts but that's the exception, not the rule! lol!
