Pure white dahlia

Van Etten, NY(Zone 5a)

I'm trying to control myself and not expand my dahlias beyond available space but I don't have a pure white dahlia and absolutely must have one! So, my question to the group is: if you were to pick one pure white dahlia to get, which would it be, based on beauty, dependability and lots of blooms?

My Love- super bloomer and good tuber keeper. 3-3.5' tall with flowers usually 5-6" across. It's one of my favorite all whites. Just the edge of one but it should be in Plantfiles.

If you don't mind a slight lavender blush, Unforgettable is great. Also blooms profusely. 4' tall 4" more rounded blooms. This is half open so the lavender is more obvious, but fully open it fades to a gentle hint of lavender. Yum. Forgot the link.... And I like White perfection too.

I am a White Perfection fan. About 6 feet tall and blooms average 12-13 inches for me. It is a consistent performer with strong stems and lots of blooms. An oldie but a goodie. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/93716/

And let's not forget Brookside Snowball-below. It's a massive 4' plant with lots of perfect pure white balls. I lost mine last year :( On the shopping list for sure for 2010. I like White Perfection too for a large dahlia.

Spike was great large white, but has faint yellow tips on each splendid petal, not so obvious, but they're there. I killed that one too.

If you like large, frilly, lacy pure white- go for Tsuki Yori No Shisha. They don't hold well as a cut flower but can't be beat on the plant.

One of the most pristine dahlias I've ever grown was Devon Citation, but it was 3 ft tall behind a field of 5 footers so not so many blooms. The blooms I saw were spectacular though.
